הושיענו ונושעה
HELP US, AND LET US BE HELPED

Solely by Your help can we be saved. Even after the illness is cured, we must ask Hashem to continue to help and save us from the causes of illness in the first place, for only then are we truly saved from the illness ever returning again.

We must note, however, that the true cause and purpose of illness is to bring the sufferer to Awareness of Hashem through Tefillah. For one to be truly saved from illness, he must remember to always be mindful of Hashem, even after he is healed, with gratitude and thanks for His healing and for his constant good health. Only then can he merit a true ישועה.
