We request of Hashem that He place upon us ברכה, which here connotes increase and growth. We desire that all the blessing that Hashem gives us should not be limited or temporary, but rather should continue to increase and bear fruit forever (such as the blessing of children, that they should increase and beget children and grandchildren forever).
