In this ברכה, “the slanderers” refers not only to those who deliver false information to the authorities, but also to the falsifiers who, throughout the generations, have constantly misled us with their lies and false dogmas – atheism, evolution, and the list goes on. For all of these wicked men we pray, אל תהי תקוה, there should be no hope.
