We ask Hashem for ‘Good’, that is, the ‘true Good’, which includes all that will be a benefit for our Perfection of mind (Torah) and character (middos); yet we request that this good be bestowed upon us not through circumstances of sorrow or pain, but rather with טובה, through circumstances of sweetness and happiness and joy. This is all included in our request for טובה, the Good of Hashem.
