משיב הרוח ומוריד הגשם
(YOU) CAUSE THE WIND TO BLOW AND THE RAIN TO FALL

The rainfall and the wind are listed here among Hashem’s Mighty deeds of Kindliness. Rain, along with the wind that facilitates its functions, is from the greatest blessings in the universe. All forms of life and all of their needs come pouring down together with the rain. Apples are coming down from the sky – all the greenery around you, the flowers, the trees – it’s all raining down straight from Hashem. Our bodies themselves are mostly water – that means that babies are coming down with the rain. One who learns to view the rain as it truly is can stand a head taller than the rest, and sing out to Hashem, ” משיב הרוח ומוריד הגשם ” – through the wind and the rain I am able to see You Hashem bestowing life upon the entire universe.
