Q:
Was it a good thing or a bad thing that Joseph Lieberman wasn’t elected vice-president along with Gore?
A:
Now whether it was good for us or bad for us I’m not going to talk about now. Ask me in private later. But whether it was good for him, that I’ll tell you.
You know, when Lieberman was given the chance to become maybe vice president, he became meshugeh, so happy. Ooh ahh! He was so happy.
What happened? First he was an Orthodox Jew. Later he said “I’m an observant Jew.” He went down a madreigah.
Later he said nothing wrong with intermarriage. Oh, so he’s getting better and better.
Then his wife embraced Gore. She put her chin on his shoulder and she hugged him; a frum Jewish woman!
So you see they’re traveling in the right direction little by little.
Baruch Hashem, Hashem rescued him. He was defeated. Had he become elected vice president, maybe on Chrasmach he’d put up a tree. He’d say “I can’t help it. I have to show I’m friendly with goyim.”
So Hashem rescued him. He’s very sorry now. But if you meet him tell him I said it’s a big hatzalah. It’s hatzalah for him. He was rescued.
