Should we have in mind the Supreme Court in Israel and other Jewish reshaim when we say the bracha of ולמלשינים? Better they should do teshuva, no?
A:
Let me explain something here. In that tefillah ולמלשינים אל תהי תקוה, we see something that’s not found anywhere else. It says three times meheirah, meheirah and kerega; quickly, quickly and immediately. We’re more in a hurry for this more than for Moshiach to come. To get rid of the minim, that’s number one. Read the bracha inside. You’ll see it’s urgent. We’re in a hurry.
So there are two attitudes. Number one you have to get rid of them. No matter what. Who cares how, you have to get rid of them as soon as possible. If they’ll do teshuvah, avada good. But suppose they’ll postpone? We can’t afford to wait. The Klal Yisroel is suffering from them. They’re ruining the Jewish nation, these reshaim.
The Zionists today in Eretz Yisrael are the worst enemies of the Jewish people. The press in Eretz Yisrael is the very worst enemy of the Jewish people. The press and the radio and the TV pour ridicule on our people all day long. All day long they attack rabbanim and they attack frum Jews. They’re doing terrible things in Eretz Yisrael. What the Knesset did, what they voted for, I don’t want to say it in public. Some things are not decent to say in public what they did. They’re worse than our enemies, worse than the Arabs.
Now let’s say if a rasha is coming with a knife against you chalilah, a Jewish rasha. You’ll say, “I’m mispallel he should do teshuvah”?! You’re crazy! “I’m mispallel he should drop dead,” that’s all.
Of course if he’ll do teshuvah, avada good but the first thing is get rid of him. Kerega yoveidu. In a minute. We have no time. We can’t afford to wait. We have to know that they’re our worst enemies and that’s why the first thing is meheirah yekareisu, to get rid of them quickly. If you have time, you can add another word that they should do teshuvah.
And therefore when you say Shemoneh Esrei put in kavanah when you say ולמלשינים אל תהי תקוה וכל הרשעה כרגע תאבדו. As you’re saying the words you’re thinking, “Hashem should destroy the Meretz party. Hashem should destroy Bagatz, the Supreme Court and all the other reshaim. He should destroy the rasha Yossi Sarid and that rash’anis Shulamis Aloni.”
And say it with kavanah. “Hashem, destroy all of them!
That’s all you can do right now. Besides for supporting the yeshivos.
