Q:

Why isn’t Moshe Rabbeinu mentioned in the Haggadah shel Pesach?

A:

This is a perennial question; it always crops up.
And the answer of course is that there’s no need to mention him. Moshe Rabbeinu is not the person that’s being spoken about now. Tonight we’re talking about Hakadosh Baruch Hu and the Am Yisroel.
And we have to realize that Moshe Rabbeinu is making the korban pesach together with us. He’s at the Seder! You want Moshe Rabbeinu to mention his own name at the Seder? Imagine, he’s right there with us together; we’re all making the Seder. It’s not the time to talk about him.
Moshe Rabbeinu started the Seder in his time. And he planned the form of the Seder. So he should say, “Mention me in the Seder”?
And therefore, at the Seder, Moshe Rabbeinu is speaking: עבדים היינו בארעא דמצרים. He is together with us. And therefore his name doesn’t have to be mentioned.
