Q:

How can you explain that Russia and Germany who persecuted Jews and killed millions of them, are prospering, and the United States is having trouble, even though the United States always helped the Jews?

A:

Why should Russia and Germany prosper despite the fact what they did to the Jews?
Now, if you’re going to interpret every detail of history in immediate results then you’ll be disappointed. You must see the long range effects.
You have to realize that what Russia did to the Jews, the Jews did to themselves. What did Russia do to the Jews? It did nothing to the Jews. It gave them full equality with all the citizens. The Jews were not persecuted one bit in Russia. That’s a fact. And nobody was persecuted in Russia. I’m talking about Communist Russia.
What happened to the Jewish religion was the result of the Jews themselves because there were so many Jewish communists who volunteered in the cause of repression of Torah and mitzvos that it’s really a Jewish business. It wasn’t Russia. Russia had no especial bias against Jews. I don’t say they’re Jew-lovers but Russia didn’t have any kind of legislation against Jews at all. And therefore there’s no need that Russia should be punished. And what they did to the Jewish religion it wasn’t against us specifically. It was against all religions.
Now what’s going to happen to them as a result? Wait yet. We’re not finished. There are chapters to be written yet. Spain didn’t decline immediately. It took some time. Looking back, in retrospect, we see the Hand of Hashem. But this you have to know that the attack on the Torah was done by communist Jews and not by communist gentiles.
