Q:
When the newspaper, the New York Times, tells a story about frum Jews, are we allowed to believe it?
A:
The New York Times is a good newspaper to use let’s say if you have to make a fire someplace. Excellent material. Otherwise, nothing else.
Q:
If it tells a story and you repeat it, is it the geder of loshon harah, uk’doimeh?
A:
If you want information about the yeshiva, don’t get it from the New York Times. That’s false. If you want to hear good news, how important the Arabs are, how righteous the Arabs are, how much they’re suffering from us, read the New York Times. They’ll tell you how the Arabs are being persecuted by us, how they’re being pushed around by us. Oh yes.
