Q:
Were all continents attached at one time and subsequently separated?
A:
Not necessarily so. Nobody can know.
It is probable that some were connected in some way. For instance, at the Bering Strait in Alaska, there are islands between Alaska and Siberia and in wintertime when the strait is frozen over, it’s possible to walk across. You can walk from this continent to the other continent – you can walk across. And it’s also probable that the Indians came here into North America and then into South America by means of the Bering Strait. They walked across. Because the Indians resembled the Mongols – high cheek bones and the eyes and the complexion. It’s quite probable that’s where they came from.
But to say that there was a connection between the continents – who can know? You can guess. Who cares? It’s possible that at some time Australia was connected with Malay by means of a string of islands. There’s a string of islands, but it’s only a conjecture. So there’s no harm in thinking about it, but nobody can tell you anything for certain.
