What do you think about the future of the Jewish community in the United States?
A:
I don’t want to make you feel bad but our future depends on the future of America too. And the future of America is a big question mark. People are falling asleep. They don’t know what’s happening.
The Communists are infiltrating South America. Russia is sending billions of munitions to Nicaragua. There are guns, nuclear guns, in Cuba aimed at the United States. And the candidate for president, Dukakis, says, “Why not?” He says he has no objection that Russia should have client states in South America. He has no objection!
Now Reagan tried to stop it, but the Congress didn’t let him. They’re going full speed ahead. Russia is going to use Cuba and Nicaragua to spread out over all South America. And that dope, Jimmy Carter, gave away the Panama Canal. That’ll be one of the first objectives for the Russians. One of the first objectives.
So the future of American Jewry depends on what’s going to happen to America and that’s a very big question mark. I don’t want to make hearts too heavy, but if you want to weep a little bit on Yom Kippur, you can weep for this too. Ribono Shel Olam! Racheim! Racheim Ribono Shel Olam on the Jewish people!” It’s not so simple at all what’s happening.
What’s going to happen to Eretz Yisroel? A very big question too. The Arabs are getting worse and worse and the Jews are becoming fewer and fewer. There were 40,000 abortions last year in Eretz Yisroel. There are no abortions at all among the Arabs. And the Arabs of Eretz Yisroel are getting the best care, medical care, of any Arab community in the world. Israeli money. They’re increasing like nobody’s business. Ribono Shel Olam, have pity on us.
