Should I donate money to a kollel whose yungerleit go away to the country for the summer?

And the answer is yes. You have to know that a kollel man in the summertime is accomplishing great things.  The mere fact he’s raising a sizable family in the country – he has a kollel of his own in the country. He deserves it; why not? And he’s not wasting time. He’s studying; he’s reviewing, he’s learning new mesichtas.
Now if he’s not a kollel man, if he just calls himself a kollel man but he wastes his days, this happens too.  So, that’s the responsibility of the heads of the kollel – we’re not talking about that now. But a true kollel man, even in the summer, he is carrying out his purpose.
