What lessons can be learned from the venus flytrap?

Ah! What lesson we can learn? That’s a great rebbe.
Look at a flytrap, it has two big leaves. The leaves have in them a certain sweet nectar. Now this flytrap is a plant. The plant opens up its big mouth and it waits. An insect comes in. An insect tickles two of the three tender nerves sticking out of the base of one of these leaves. As soon as they tickle the nerves of that leaf, it closes up quickly like a trap. An insect is caught like that.
Now the plant gets busy digesting the insect. The plant is eating up the insect. It’s a marvelous thing. The plant eats up the insect, sucks out the juices. About a week later when all the nourishment is already sucked out of the insect, the plant opens up again and is ready for business again. It’s a miraculous thing to see it work.
There’s much more to talk about that. You see the planning of Hashem. It’s done with a purpose. There are so many details necessary and that shows that the world is made, ה’ בחכמה יסד ארץ – Hashem made the world with wisdom and when you see that, you’ll say, “מה רבו מעשך ה’ כולם בחכמה עשית.”
