Should all the Orthodox groups unite in one single body speaking with one unified voice on many important issues?
A:
Now that’s not so simple to answer. Because it could be that there are different approaches to some of the general problems.
But one thing I think is certain, when it comes to voting they should all unite in voting. What happened in Eretz Yisrael demonstrated the power of achdus. Because they all united, they were able to kick out Teddy Kollek finally. And also what happened in New York (the election of Giuliani as Mayor) is a result of a certain amount of unity.
But to say that they should unite in everything, it’s not easy to say that because sometimes there are principles that come in clash with each other.
