Rav Avigdor Miller on Buying Life Insurance

print

Q:

Should a person buy life insurance for the sake of his family?

A:

Should a person buy life insurance? Absolutely. Yes, he should. And in no way is it a חסרון in בטחון. It’s not a lack of faith in Hashem.

Life insurance is just like buying, for example, a house for your family. You’re doing something to protect the security of your family. Someday you’ll live in that house. Someday your children will live in that house. Suppose you buy a house for your children but for whatever reason you won’t live in that house. But your wife and children will live in that house. It’s also worthwhile. And therefore, life insurance is also worthwhile. Life insurance is absolutely worthwhile.
