Now I’ll tell you something that you’ll think is a queer thing but it’s the way how to do it. If you’ll stand in a corner when nobody is around and you’ll say, “Avinu.” Say it again and again. Say it a hundred times. And it’s going to sink in after a while.
Now, that’s not the only way but it’s a very effective way. And this we learn from Reb Yisroel Salanter, zichrono livracha. You repeat the great ideas; you say these words over and over and you listen to what you’re saying and in the course of time it’s going to sink in. If you mean business, that’s the way to do it.
Also, if you’ll always think when you say the words “Avinu” in the tefillos, if you’ll always stop and think “Our father,” that’s going to help too. Only that in davening people are usually in such a hurry that they don’t stop to think.
