He says to Hashem, “Thank you Hashem. I thank you Hashem for what You’re doing to me. You’re humbling me. All my life I was arrogant because of my youthfulness and my good health. And now I’m getting a treatment from You in order to be humbled before You as I prepare to leave this world. I’m gaining perfection in my last days, before it will be too late for me. Thank you Hashem.” He says that all the time and he thinks that all the time and he becomes more and more perfect just because of that. That’s his success.
