Should we pray for the reshaim in Gehenom that Hashem should have mercy on them?
That’s a novel idea. Well, if you’re a kind-hearted person, I’m not going to disappoint you. However some reshaim we should be mispallel that they should be in Gehinom. The truth is that the world has been bamboozled by false kindliness that came out of a certain book – I won’t mention it here, but it’s a certain book that talks about turning the other cheek to your enemy. They never practiced it themselves by the way; it’s only window dressing anyhow.
But we’re not that artificial. And therefore we say, “Ribono Shel Olam, make it warmer for Hitler. Warmer! Turn up the heat! Preigel him! Let him fry.” And let’s all pray for that.
However, if you want to pray let’s say for Karl Marx, or if you want to pray for Leon Trotsky, I’m not telling you what to do this instant. I myself am a little reluctant to pray for them, but I leave it up to you. But there are certainly some reshaim, there is a certain some, that we can be on safe ground if we pray that the heat should be turned up for them.
