Let me tell you how I get the news. I’m walking in the street. I stop at a newsstand and I read the headlines. And it’s all garbage. The Knicks! The Knicks are the headlines! A fellow with a basketball is the headlines! A crazy world! Big letters with exclamation marks. You would think that it was some terrible gi’zeirah.
I wouldn’t pay a penny for that news. No. I walk by, I glance at it and I go further. I have things to accomplish in life. I can’t waste my time. I can’t waste my mind – my thoughts – on garbage. To spend money on that garbage and then to spend time putting that garbage into your head?! Meshugas!
