Q:We believe that shidduchim are made in heaven; so what’s the principle in the gemara that you have to hurry up to find something good because שמא יקדמנו אחר – maybe somebody else might snatch the opportunity away from you (Mo’ed Katan 18b). If it’s ordained, it’s ordained; what’s there to worry about?
Q:The Chofetz Chaim wrote a kuntress about the prohibition of shaving, and other gedolim also wrote about the importance of wearing a beard. What should a person do if his wife is not so happy about the idea?
Q: Sometimes we see in the gemara that the chachomim in Eretz Yisroel would refer to the Jews in Bavel as בבלאי טפשאי, those foolish Babylonians. How does that fit together with the idea that you’re not supposed to ridicule people?
Q: It was said here recently that the Chofetz Chaim didn’t have any cronies, any friends, with whom he spent a lot of time. But didn’t you tell us that Chazal teach קנה לך חבר, that a friend is so important that you should even be willing to pay for a good friend?
