Q:We say Avinu Malkeinu during these days of teshuva and I noticed that in Shemona Esrei, in the bracha of teshuva (השבינו) and in the bracha of selicha (סלח לנו) we use those words. Why is Avinu Malkeinu used in those brachos specifically?
Q: Why is it that in Europe, in the yeshivos and even among the balabatim, there was a real sensation of eimas ha’din, the fear of the upcoming judgement during Elul, while here in America we don’t see that type of feeling? Aren’t we frum just like they were in Europe?
Q:On the Shabbos before Rosh Chodesh, when we bless the new month before mussaf, we ask Hashem for a month of חיים שיש בהם יראת שמים – life that has in it fear of Hashem. And then a few lines after that we say, חיים שתהא בנו אהבת תורה ויראת שמים. Why is it repeated?
