Crying out to Hashem

In the olden days, Jews would scream out in Tefillah to Hashem. Today, many people prefer to daven simply & quietly. But they’re mistaken; they’re really thinking, “Hashem, what can I lose? I’ll ask You too.

When one recognizes that Hashem is the only One Who can help him, he cries out.

And that’s what the B’nei Yisroel did in Mitzrayim. They trusted only in Hashem, and they cried out to Him. In public, of course, one must daven at a lower volume; but still, he must cry out to Hashem, at least in his mind. One who cries out to Hashem will begin to gain the awareness that Hashem is the only One who can truly help him.
