Becoming Great through Tefillah in Truth
Tefillah must be true and sincere. We need to inspire ourselves to want what we are asking for. Look at our mother Leah. She became great through sincere tefillah. When she saw she was second to Rachel, it was such a spur to her that she began to pray, and that prayer brought forth a greatness within her that caused her to finally win first place.
Yes, first place – today, we are almost all descendants of Leah, for we are almost all Yehudim who come from Shevet Yehuda from Leah. If we pray with our hearts and at the same time do the acts that demonstrate that we really mean what we’re asking for, we too can attain true greatness through tefillah.
