Tefillah Inspiration: Man of Tefillah

A Man of Tefillah

It is interesting to note that there is no open, explicit, mitzvah of Tefillah in the Torah. The reason for this is because Tefillah is not something that you do once a day and are then finished with; Tefillah is a constant state of being, to constantly stand in prayer before Hashem. Dovid Hamelech was chosen because of this attribute, as it is written, “Va’ani tefillah” – I am [a man of] Tefillah” (Tehillim 109:4), a man who is in constant communion with Hashem.
