Recognizing His Greatness
The חובות הלבבות writes that one of the great objectives of Tefillah is the recognition of Hashem’s Greatness. In Tefillah, we attain a newfound awareness of Hashem’s Power, Wisdom, and Kindliness in our lives and in the entire Universe. In addition to this being a purpose of Tefillah in and of itself, it also greatly enhances one’s humility toward Hashem as well, which, the חובות הלבבות teaches us, is too one of the chief objectives of Tefillah.
