How thankful we are to You, Hashem, for bestowing upon us the great and beautiful gift of דעת, from plain sanity to the heights of perfection of True Knowledge.
השיבנו אבינו
TURN US BACK, OUR FATHER
Like a lost child we return to You, Hashem, our Father. Please turn us back, even to merely recognize that You are our Father, for the recognition alone that You are our Father is already a true Teshuva.
השיבנו אבינו לתורתיך
TURN US BACK, OUR FATHER, TO YOUR TORAH
Please turn us back to the day when we stood upon the summit of Torah and Avodah and shouted נעשה ונשמע – back to “Your” Torah, the Torah that we received straight from Your mouth at Har Sinai.
וקרבנו מלכנו
AND BRING US NEAR, OUR KING
May we find favor in Your eyes so that You may bring us near to learn Your Torah and do Your Mitzvos. Please grant us with the necessary means to come near and be from Your servants.
